I really love how this card turned out. I'm always seeking to buy tools, stamps and embellishments with a botanical theme. As I continue to create cards from week-to-week, I feel like my techniques and colour choices are improving. As I live in the Blue Mountains, my aim is to promote nature to the people who visit, so I will be focusing more on creating nature-themed cards as time goes on.
I love the natural, earthy feel of your cards...
ReplyDeleteThis particular card would have been expensive to make?
ReplyDeleteOnce you own the tools and use them often, it becomes cheaper over time to make a card like this. For example, I embossed the background using a Cuttlebug Machine (approx. $120) and the 'Leafy Branch' embossing folder (approx. $10). The die used the cut the little green leaves cost approx. $8 (cut using the Cuttlebug Machine). Fabric and paper flowers can be sourced relatively cheaply. For the buttons, you can use reclaimed buttons or mixed buttons bought it bulk. The cardstock is 'Bazzill' brand, which I usually buy when it is on special. The lady beetles are about $0.30 each. The coordinating envelope is about $0.30. I am selling this particular card for $4. Are you wanting to get into cardmaking?
ReplyDeleteHi Mel,
ReplyDeleteYour cards are absolutely stunning. You should be very proud. I hope you are happy and well, Dani xo
Dear Dani,
ReplyDeleteThanks for checking out my blog. I looked at your blog and love your crocheted goods. There are so many things that lend themselves to this craft. Crocheted mug, teapot and plunger cosies seem to be quite popular atm. I've seen them at a couple of markets. I only wish I could crochet and admire anyone who has the patience and skill to do it!
